TERMS AND CONDITIONS

  1. Installation Work:

(a) All electrical installation work will comply with BS7671:2018 and any amendments in force at the time of the works.

(b) All electrical installation work will comply with applicable Building Regulations in force at the time of the works.

(c) Electrical Installation and Minor Works certificates and Building Regulations notifications issued by Belli Electrics Limited cover only those works installed by Belli Electrics Limited.

(d) Where work is to extend or modify existing circuits, costs quoted assume existing circuits are safe and in adequate condition. Any works required to bring these circuits up to standard will be at additional cost.

(e) No addition or alteration will be carried out to rubber insulated (VIR) or lead sheathed cables

(f) Where carpet or floor coverings require lifting, best endeavours will be made to avoid damage and to refit to an acceptable standard. However, employing a specialist fitter may be prudent, to effect a fully satisfactory reinstatement.

(g) Unless agreed beforehand, plastering and/or decorating of chases made in walls during the work is excluded.

(h) Belli Electrics Limited will endeavour to undertake  installation work to a clean standard. However, some additional vacuuming and cleaning down of surfaces should be expected afterwards. Any equipment susceptible to damage from dust (eg video or computer equipment) must be removed from the work area prior to Belli Electrics Limited’s arrival.

  1. New Consumer Units:

(a) Installation of new consumer units (fuse board) is subject to the whole installation being tested to ensure it is safe to be connected to a new consumer unit. It is recommended that a full Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) is undertaken prior to the work taking place.

(b) Any circuits to be reconnected to the new consumer unit that are found defective or non-compliant with the current version of BS7671 in a way that is an immediate or potential danger must be rectified prior to be connected. Any costs for such work are not included (unless otherwise stated). Such issues will be brought to the client’s attention as soon as is practical during works, or before the works take place if they have become obvious during an EICR.

(c) In particular it may be necessary to install new main services bonding to water, gas or oil supplies. This is especially common on properties built during or prior to the early 1970s and again these are at additional cost unless agreed otherwise beforehand.

(d) In order to comply with the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989, unless there is an existing suitable isolating switch between the electricity meter and the location for the new consumer unit, arrangements will need to be made with the Distribution Network Operator (DNO – find yours by entering your postcode here) for the cut out fuse to be withdrawn from the incoming supply. This must be done before the old fuse box/consumer unit can be removed and the new one can be installed. Each DNO has a different way of meeting its responsibilities in this area and sometimes they delegate some activities to your electricity supplier or insist you have an isolator switch installed (by them or your electricity supplier). Please contact your DNO for more information.

  1. Exclusions:

(a) Whilst we try to be as helpful as possible and will generally do some limited moving to create access, the clearing and/or moving of furniture and other items blocking access to work areas is not included in the quote.

(b) Whilst Belli Electrics Limited will try and ensure that electrical items are plugged back in and in working order before we leave the premises, we will not be held responsible for any losses due to electrical items, for example fridges and freezers, not being plugged back in and/or switched on.

(c) Unless agreed beforehand, removal from site and disposal of rubble, materials, general waste and packaging is not included. Belli Electrics Limited may, at their discretion, remove old fittings and wiring for responsible disposal.

  1. Pricing:

(a) Estimated costs assume continuous and unhindered access to the site by prior arrangement with the client.

(b) Unless stated otherwise, the costs quoted assume standard working hours between 08:00hrs – 16:30hrs Monday to Friday inclusive. Work required by the client outside these hours may attract premium rates although I will try and be flexible.

(c) Additional work not covered in stated costs will attract an additional charge plus materials.

(d) Quotations are valid for 30 days from the date on the written quote.

  1. Risk and Title of Goods:

(a) The risk in all goods supplied shall pass to the Client upon delivery.

(b) All goods supplied shall remain the property of Belli Electrics Limited until all sums due have been paid in full.

  1. Warranty:

(a) Belli Electrics Limited warrants its installation work to be defect free for a period of twelve months from the invoice date. Cover does not extend to goods supplied by others, physical damage, wilful misuse or instances where the installation has been altered or tampered with by third parties. The warranty also excludes fair wear and tear, lamps, fuses or other consumables. The warranty is not insurance backed.

(b) Electrical work undertaken by Belli Electrics Limited is also covered by NICEIC’s Platinum Promise for up to 6 years (see here for further details).

(c) Where projects involve works by third party trades, any damage to the electrical installation by third parties shall remain the responsibility of the Client. Any rectification costs must be paid by the Client prior to commencement of second fix. Recovery of such costs from any third party shall be the Clients responsibility.

(c) Security alarms will be fitted with tamper seal on main panel. All warranty is void if this is broken. Request of engineer code will also void any warranty

  1. Payment:

(a) Unless agreed in writing, payment in full should be made within 7 days of completion of the specified works, to Belli Electrics Limited (details of how to pay will be on the invoice).

(b) Larger projects may require a non-refundable deposit before work, as stated in estimate (if applicable).

(c) Where projects involve separate first and second fix works, part payment may be due on completion of first fix (see quote for more details).
